DEAD MAN'S TATTOOS

Here it is...the first tattoo I ever got, on my inner right forearm. This one is the old-school logo of WWE wrestler Undertaker, way back in the day when he was known as the Dead Man and had the evil, Satanic look to go with it, as opposed to the biker character. Now he's back to his old self and now people are recognizing the logo.

The second tattoo I had done, this one on my left bicep. There's no meaning to it; I just like skulls and tribal designs. Finding a combination of both was kick-ass.

And now, tattoo number three, this one on my inner left forearm. I like tribal designs and I like scorpions and the fact that this was tattoo number three made me a little bolder...ask anyone who knows, and they'll agree that getting a tattoo on the inside of the forearm, while not as painful as other places, is not a walk in the park.

Tattoo number four, done on my right bicep, was inked months before the release of the Spider-Man movie. When I went to the flick with it displayed on my arm, I was barraged with questions on just how hardcore a Spidey fan I was. Now I bought the DVD along with a whole shitload of other people, but I just like spiders in general. There are some tattoos you just can't take in public...

This is the tattoo that made my name known. The famed "Dead Man tat"...my "back piece"...okay, I'm done. This bitch took 3.5 hours to do, with the artist needing a break every hour or so. He had the flying demon design for an arm, and he suggested doubling the image for a very kick-ass back piece. After I got it done, I recall learning to sleep on my stomach, and not being very comfortable playing video games. And learning to tape a paper towel to my shoulderblades to shield it from my shirt was an interesting adventure.

This tattoo was the first one I got done after I signed up for the Navy. The Juggalos will recognize it as the almighty 6th Joker's Card, The Wraith. I took the image from ICP's website, and got it done with the quickness. When I went to the release party on November 4th at Who's On First in Boston, I had the time of my life.

This pretty kitty was inked on my arm sometime after Christmas. It was done by an artist at my shop that I hadn't had before, but as you can see, his artistic ability is superb. I love cats, especially the feral ones, and a white tiger is an oddity among the breed...much like I'm an oddity among my breed...at least that's what I like to think, and I'm not having a rough time finding people who disagree.

Tattoo number eight has bittersweet memories, as just a few days after getting it, Emily told me she was cheating on me. So, in addition to the massive emotional trauma, I had an attractive physical wound to boot. But it all worked out, as I was in no mental shape to do  anything beyond sitting around my mom's house and playing WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain. The tat was exposed to minimal movement, so it probably healed better than any of them. It's a nice frame for the Undertaker logo. That's all it is.

My ninth tattoo, located dead-center on my chest, is about the size of my hand. It's the first tattoo I got in Norfolk. I'll be going back when I can to expand upon it. I'm going to start a "King of the Dead" theme on my chest, and eventually expand it to include the demons on my back.

So many plans, so little skin...
